One thing I know for sure, humans are extremely habitual creatures. It has been 2015 for only a few days now and already I have tried to sign more than one dated document as January 2014. I would like to think I have learned my lesson, but the truth remains that it is likely to happen again.
Unfortunately, at least if you talk to my lovely wife, I have many habits. Some are good and some not so good. One habit my home church might be aware of is my think cloth; also known as a handkerchief. I usually wear at least one out during a Sunday morning sermon.
Another habit, of which I blame my eye doctor, is my glasses. While having a conversation with my grandfather recently he asked me if I needed to get them adjusted to fit my head. He said, “Perhaps you would not need to mess with them so much when you are preaching.”
Perhaps he is right, or perhaps I just need to fix another bad habit. Either way, thanks for the concern Papa.
A new habit our family is intentionally working on is one we like to call “tea time.” Every evening at 9 PM we have a family prayer and then discuss one of the following topics. Spiritual, physical, emotional, and financial. We chose these topics as areas of interest that we want to become very intentional about. Intentional in the sense of creating some good habits; habits that can help us be proud when we look back at 2015.
May our Heavenly Father lead and guide us all into a more intentional walk with Him this year.
